Culture / Maison - 11/5/19

Seventy years of Dior history, projected into the jungle of Times Square. Such an extravagant and extraordinary challenge has given rise to a two-part collection bearing a double name: Dior/Lindbergh. Inside a precious box, this two-volume work brings together more than a hundred images celebrating the House's creations – some have never been published before; others have appeared in the world's most prestigious magazines (American Vogue, Vogue Paris, Italian Vogue, Harper's Bazaar and Vanity Fair among them). The German photographer Peter Lindbergh was determined to realize this exceptional project; Dior made it possible by allowing more than 80 archival looks to travel across the Atlantic. Over the course of an incredible New York shoot, amid the bustle of Times Square, "Lindbergh beauties" – including Karen Elson, Saskia de Brauw, Carolyn Murphy, Amber Valletta and Sasha Pivovarova - donned iconic Dior silhouettes dating from Christian Dior’s era to Maria Grazia Chiuri’s, and blended into the crowd. A masterpiece of timeless elegance.

The great photographer, who passed away in September 2019, was one of Dior's closest collaborators. The last of his projects for the House, this book was a dream that came straight from his heart - and ours.
