PAUL SMITH JOINS FORCES WITH LUXURY ITALIAN FURNITURE BRAND BOFFI | DEPADOVA

Bringing together Paul Smith’s flair for colour and Boffi I DePadova’s distinctive modern  aesthetic, the collaborative EVERYDAY LIFE collection spans artisanal sofas, armchairs, poufs,  coffee tables, blankets, benches and trays.  

Characterised by its clean lines and discreet use of colour, the collection’s starting point was Paul’s  well-known phrase, “you can find inspiration in everything” and the notion that function and form are  not mutually exclusive concepts. An homage to the value of craftsmanship, the pieces have been made  with incredible attention to detail, utilising luxury fabrics and materials.  

In particular, sustainability and low-impact innovative materials like hemp, kapok (a cotton-like seed  fibre that is naturally organic, hypoallergenic, antibacterial and insulating) and recycled feathers are at  the heart of the collection, as well as a responsible approach to production.  

The colour palette is equally considered, with neutral, organic shades like ecru and brick red mixed with  deeper tones like midnight blue and peacock green, as well as the hero hue, a soft lime green, which  sings against the dark solid oak wood, rich leather and natural marble that anchors the collection. 

An understated nod to the iconic Paul Smith Signature Stripe appears in the form of contrast stitching  in Zig Zag, Cross and ‘Punto Cavallo’ stiches – itself a reference to traditional tailoring techniques –  and in the leather straps that affix the upholstery on the sofas, while the juxtaposition of materials like  wood and stone reference Paul’s love of the unexpected.
