CHRISTIAN LOUBOUTIN ANNOUNCES THE REOPENING OF HIS HISTORIC BOUTIQUE, GALERIE VÉRO-DODAT IN PARIS

Maison - 5/20/21

Christian Louboutin announces the reopening of his historic store located rue Jean-Jacques Rousseau in the 1st arrondissement in Paris. Opened in 1991, it has been completely redesigned while respecting the elements that have made this place a founding element in his career. All the decorative elements dear to the designer are there : the iconic red carpet, the ornamental niches inspired by the architecture of the Galerie Véro-Dodat as well as a mix of textures and colors so characteristic of his collections.

The designer, who has always thought of his boutiques as ‘salons’ in which he would receive his clients and as if they were visiting friends, invited two artists to create unique pieces to bring the store to life. Louis Barthélemy - French artist and designer - created a khayamiya, a round textile piece of two meters, which features figures from ancient Egypt and the iconic shoes of the House. Based in Cairo, he celebrates through his work the centuries-old know-how and Egyptian legends, reinterpreted with his contemporary aesthetic eye.

The furniture was entrusted to the artist Elisabeth Garouste, a close friend of Christian Louboutin for whom she has already decorated several boutiques around the world. She is inspired by nature which she reinterprets in a jungle of wood and chalk sublimated with gold leaf. These dreamlike and captivating pieces recreate a soft and intriguing atmosphere dear to the creator.

A selection of exclusive models will be offered in the boutique, alongside the new collections of shoes and accessories for women.
