080 Barcelona Fashion lives the second day of fashion shows with the proposals of IS COMING, LARHHA, SIMORRA, EÑAUT, TXELL MIRAS and DOMINNICO, which have walked down the catwalk at the Sant Pau Art Nouveau Site within the framework of Barcelona Fashion Week.
IS COMING, which is walking down the catwalk for the first time on the Catalan fashion platform in a live format, opened the catwalk on the second day of the 080 Barcelona Fashion Show. The label, established by Constan Hernández, is a slow fashion business model based on the circular economy, one of the main drivers of this 30th edition. The great new feature is that the brand relies on the BUY BACK concept, where the customer has the possibility to resell the creations purchased for a year.
The collection presented by Is Coming is called "Hotel in Barbados", a collection that follows the line of the three previous collections: timelessness and versatility. This time, Constan Hernández plays with day and night with an explosive colour range, containing geometric prints, which are characteristic of the twenties, and combinations of fabrics and prints. Inspired by colonial Central America, men's linen blazers and trousers, exaggerated skirts combined with small jackets and men's shirts have been the starring features of the fashion show. Along with delicate colours, such as peach, lilac, pink and light green, that rise in tone and mix with the oil colour, until reaching the shrill strawberry, mint green or fire red with touches of navy to nuance.
The brands that have contributed to the styles of Is Coming, bringing light and color to the fashion show are: Sommet's shoes, Cukoo B's bags and Peris Costumes' necklaces, necklaces and clutches.
It was followed by LARHHA, the firm of architects Miguel Marín and Natalia Lorca, who walked down the catwalk for the first time at 080 Barcelona Fashion. LARHHA conveys the transformative and inclusive power of architecture through fashion in a change of scale, making the individual who wears it a participant and change agent.
"Larhha 23", the label’s first collection, is a fusion between the most sophisticated silhouettes and urban and sporty aesthetics, with interchangeable garments that generate other looks and that have reflected the versatility of the proposal, with the aesthetics of the sixties and a retro-futuristic touch. Always based on architectural rules and volumes that seek the perfect space between the human body and its shelter, new patterns are adapted, such as the "LARHHA shoulder", which seeks the line between comfort and experimentation with suggestive silhouettes.
SIMORRA, which is in charge of closing the last edition, is a label that understands cutting-edge design as a vehicle for expression and creative freedom thanks to its more than forty years of experience. SIMORRA is a soul project that combines tradition and innovation.
Following its philosophy of the search for beauty in the simplest things, its new collection, "Nomad", goes beyond trends and fads and promotes a commitment to quality and durability of garments. Inspired by the intelligent, curious, brave and restless women guided by the polar star, who started a journey to break social norms and decided to explore beyond their home. "Nomad" is the beginning of a journey in search of the real, a journey in which beauty makes sense under the concept of union.
EÑAUT (5:30 p.m.), the designer born in Gipuzkoa created the brand in September 2018 and won the REC.0/080 Barcelona Fashion competition for best designer that year.
For this edition, EÑAUT presents its seventh collection: "Under". With its minimalist aesthetics and sustainable vision, the new collection emphasises the work of corals on the environmental impact, specifically concerning their importance to clean the air. This is based on the awareness that marine plants are one of the most important crew members on Earth, as they can store up to twenty times more carbon per square metre than forests.
TXELL MIRAS (7:00 p.m.) is back for another edition with a new collection. Txell Miras has been running her own firm since 2004.
The collection shown, "Vanishing Points", is an exercise in geometries, horizontal vanishing points that are the starring feature of the garments’ chromatic proposal. These lines are the common thread in a play on contrasts with vertical lines acting as strong, forceful pillars. This results in a state of calm and stillness.
The fabrics starring this collection are wool, cotton, viscose, ponte roma, quilted fabrics, neoprene, tricot and denim. Moreover, the main colours of "Vanishing Points" are chocolate, mustard, camel, stone, black, red, white, vanilla, navy blue and indigo.
DOMINNICO (8:30 p.m.), which is walking down the catwalk for the first time on the 080 Barcelona Fashion platform, is a label with a large presence on social networks for its styling of current artists. Under the premise of "slow fashion", it is known for its meticulous pattern-making, research into new fabrics and materials, sustainability in processes and a futuristic vision of fashion.
To close the second day, it presents the designs of the "Nenne Spring 2023" collection. Inspired by the origins of Domingo Rodríguez, its founder and creative director, this new proposal is made under the premise of upcycling and handmade manufacturing, featuring athleisure styles that recall that impossible mix of moccasins with retro tracksuit and tank top. The colourful collection, with silver as the starring shade, flows between white, pink, acid green, Klein blue and black.
This fashion show brings the second day to an end, a day that has brought together fashion lovers and industry professionals, who have had the opportunity to see new work from six brands that are faithful to design and circular fashion. A fashion show that once more did not want to avoid one of the biggest problems of the industry: environmental pollution.
