24 Sèvres announces the launch of an exclusive capsule collection with British label Erdem. Known for his use of experimental textiles, vibrant prints, and detailed craftsmanship, Erdem Moralioglu has created nine exclusive ready-to-wear pieces and accessories exclusively for 24 Sèvres. Taking a cue from his lifelong love of the arts and the ballet, as well as his joyful and spirited Spring/Summer 2018 collection (which imagined young Queen Elisabeth II embarking on a secret, lifelong love affair with jazz), his inspiration here was Margot Fonteyn, the English Prima Ballerina Assoluta as appointed by the Queen in 1979.
The capsule juxtaposes the lighthearted yet distinguished playfulness of the Spring/Summer 2018 collection with dainty hues and movement reminiscent of the ballet. Soft cornflower blues and pink- tinged florals are intricately married on delicate fabrics. An ode to femininity, the silhouettes include floaty dresses and separates and form an edit of subtly seductive pieces to be layered or worn individually, with prints that have an impactful yet easy elegance to them. The shoes are reminiscent of the classic 1940s and 1950s, and the flower-detailed earrings take inspiration from the wallpaper motifs at Buckingham palace.
Erdem Moralioglu says : “The spirit of the Spring/Summer 2018 2018 capsule collection combined with the movement of my work with the Royal Ballet creates a modern and playful collection. The movement in the pieces brings a really relaxed elegance which, to me, works perfectly for Parisian summer nights.”

Eric Goguey continues: “The universe of Erdem is so evocative, and so quintessentially British, that we found the idea of translating it to a Parisienne approach to dressing particularly interesting.” The result is an edit of pieces ready to go from wedding
season to weekend outings.
