In 2021, ICICLE celebrates the Earth with a Spring-Summer collection that focuses on nature’s treasures, both visible and invisible, and our sensorial, tactile relationship with the environment.
Informed by the wonders of travel and artisanal crafts, Land Artists who use rock formations, flowers, branches, rivers and sunsets as their medium, and precious hidden resources such as minerals, precious stones and fossils, the Spring-Summer 2021 collection emphasizes the beauty of organic textiles and the sense of well-being they bring.
Creative Director Bénédicte Laloux and her team in Paris worked remotely with their colleagues in Shanghai to create a collection that conveys the notion that fabric provides not only shelter for the body but comfort for the soul.
“Everything we do stems from a respect for nature, and the ICICLE consumer appreciates that integrity because they pay close attention to what they buy and wear. We do everything in our power to make the smallest impact possible on the Earth. The purity of our raw materials is then translated into authentic, uncluttered shapes that have a playfulness about them,” says Creative Director Bénédicte Laloux.

In that spirit, the Spring-Summer 2021 collection pays ode to the natural world, from desert hues to luxuriant greens, smoky blues and limpid grays, warmed by shades of peach, orange and brick. Noble silk Habotai and crêpe de chine are approached with a contemporary eye while the new OPTIMTM weaving technique combines the strength of silk and the warmth of merino wool to create a performance fabric that resists wind, rain, and creasing. Simple silhouettes enhance ease of movement, influenced by traditional men’s tailoring yet infused with a soft sensuality that resonates with today’s needs and lifestyles.
Statement pieces include trenches, in a breezy hybrid cape format for women and a striking, strong- shouldered style with military details for men, inspired by the colors of sand dunes. Made of OPTIMTM silk and merino wool fabric, both are warm yet lightweight, engineered to be water resistant. As luminous as a cloud, an impeccably cut white suit for her is made of sustainable, zero-dye, 100% hemp moves that fabric from workwear to sophisticated day wear, with a belted jacket and high-waisted, straight trousers.
The upscale Atelier line presents refined looks featuring hand-shaped, hand-stitched draping and pleating, yet the pieces are also easy to wear and travel with, such as a sleeveless dress in khaki silk crêpe de chine or a long black halter-neck dress. And Habotai silk — the softest and lightest of them all — is used for suiting, with playful, smart-casual Bermuda shorts for women and men.
For weekends, separates include jeans and a button-down midi skirt in eco-denim.
To capture this mood, the campaign for the Icicle Spring-Summer 2021 collection was shot in Camargue in the South of France. Photographs by Jalan and Jibril Durimel and video by Masha Vasyukova will break online on January 4th, 2021.
The ICICLE Spring-Summer 2021 collection will be in-store as of January 11th, 2021.
