Episode 2 At The Café
Starring: Arlo Parks, British singer-songwriter and poet, as a friend of Silvia, she is wearing a hooded sweatshirt, printed tunic top layered over cotton pants with a crossbody Jackie 1961 handbag and Gucci Basket high tops.
The Stories Behind the Episode
The scenes from the café explore surreal situations through conversations between characters who are dubbed in Italian with sub-titles; including Silvia and Arlo’s character and a naked couple. The dubbing is an homage to the dubbing heard in Italian vintage cinema. When Arlo gets into a vintage Citroën Dyane with friends to go on a sightseeing tour around Rome, they are pictured driving past some of the city’s iconic ruins. The episode finale sees Silvia enter into the bathroom of the café yet it becomes apparent she is somewhere else because of its wooden boiserie walls, she opens the door and sees the theatre, which we will see again...

Silvia Looks
Silvia carries the redesigned Bamboo bag and wears a T-shirt that is printed on the front with #1921 —a reference to the year Gucci was founded. On the reverse is the phrase ‘L’Aveugle Par Amour’ meaning Blind For Love, a phrase Alessandro Michele has used in collections over his time as Creative Director at Gucci. Many of the looks in Episode 2 are inspired by vintage pieces, including the leather suit and wide collared brown and lace shirt worn by the gentleman dancing with the dog. Some characters are wearing reeditions of the looks from Alessandro Michele’s first Gucci women’s show, Fall Winter 2015 which will be part of the ‘Ouverture Of Something That Never Ended’ collection. The dress from the first episode thrown from the balcony by Silvia spreads and multiplies itself into the world—the printed silk plissé dress from Alessandro Michele’s first women’s collection for Gucci Fall Winter 2015.
A checked tote bag with the mirrored Gucci lettering: ICCUG is seen in the café. MX: one of the friends in the car is wearing a look from Gucci MX—pieces which have a genderless approach to their design—featuring a sweatshirt embellished with black ribboned bows, red shorts and socks with the Chatsworth crest. In the café bathroom a character in a faux fur coat is applying Gucci Beauty lipstick in Rouge à Lèvres Satin shade Goldie Red.
