Adriana is Peruvian, Laerke is Danish. Together they founded AYNI and launched their first collection in Paris in 2009. Every garment is designed and made by hand in Peru, using only the most exclusive Peruvian materials such as the luxurious baby alpaca and the famous pima cotton.
AYNI means “today for you, tomorrow for me” in Quechua. The word embodies the concepts of cooperation and reciprocity.
This month, AYNI is excited to announce the launch of it’s new Spring Summer 2020 collection. Inspired by Peru’s canyon of Colca, AYNI continue the theme of COL*CA to pay homage to the Aymara-speaking Collaguas and the Quechua-speaking Cabanas who inhabited the valley in the pre-Inca era.
AYNI’s Resort 2020 collection was a first glimpse into Colca’s valleys, and we are now going even deeper with this collection. The collection takes you from the earthy grounds of the canyons to the bright sunny sky. It showcases how minimalist Danish design can meet Peru’s culturally rich embroidery artisans.
Ayni’s COL*CA Spring Summer 2020 collection features innovative threads made from the strong Pima cotton, pure organic cotton and the versatile, light Alpaca fiber. We bring our clients a complete seasonal wardrobe, for casual beach strolls to summer city dates, elevated leisure to contemporary luxury. The color palette is inspired by Colca’s dramatic natural landscape, its romantic flora, warm sun rays and bright sky. Shapes and silhouettes are inspired by Cantuta, Peru’s national Flower typically found in this region. AYNI brings together colorful macramé, modern crochet, unexpected color blocking and present-day embroidery on hand cut cotton.

Supporting AYNI’s wardrobe this season is our shoe line with Cornelio Borda, a Peruvian-Italian brand. We are introducing sandals made from sustainable Peruvian fish leather, dyed organically, and the perfect hand-embroidered slipper for city walks.
