Today, Burberry announces the opening of two stores in St. Moritz and Courchevel, featuring Burberry’s new global design concept that encapsulates the essence of the luxury house.
Designed in collaboration with renowned architect Vincenzo De Cotiis, the new concept twists classicism as rules become skewed, juxtaposing brutalist elements with luxurious materials to create a distinctly modern feel. The store features display fixtures and plinths constructed in a variety of textures from concrete to ceramics to high-gloss finishes. The core colours of the Burberry check – beige, black, white and red – are also explored and developed throughout the store, whilst the iconic pattern itself is reinterpreted in the gridded ceiling’s mirrored zones, creating a sense of openness as it reflects the roaming tiled chequerboard floors.
The St. Moritz store is nestled in the Engadin valley, Switzerland, and is in partnership with the Italian luxury retailer MODES. The Courchevel store is located in the Tarentaise valley and is in partnership with the the luxury retailer Maltempi.
The stores offer an assortment of iconic Burberry women’s and men’s pieces. Outerwear sits at the heart of both stores and includes Heritage Trench Coats and updated styles, hooded puffer jackets in Italian-woven check, a honey beige deer-print faux-fur coat and a honey Monogram- print cotton gabardine trench coat. The stores also include the new Spring/Summer 2022 collections for men and women, both collections meld the feelings of freedom and togetherness in an exploration of the forces that connect and inspire us.
