This holiday season, LOEWE presents the Disney Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas collection, reimagining the iconic film’s characters and visual language across bags, accessories, ready-to-wear, fragrance, and leather goods.

First released by Disney in 1993, Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas was created through stop-motion, handmade articulated puppets, and hand-crafted miniature sets. The film’s characters began as sketches before being painstakingly translated into three-dimensional form, frame-by-frame. This meticulous process and richly tactile quality resonate closely with LOEWE’s own relationship to craft, honed over the last 180 years.

Anchored in this shared ethos of making, the Disney Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas collection was developed with special access to the film’s archive, including the original sketches and puppets behind Jack Skellington, Sally, Zero, and other beloved characters and scenes. Through LOEWE artisanship, the film’s world was then reimagined in leather marquetry, embroidery, print, enamel, and other signature House materials and techniques. These combine with unexpected constructions, hybrid materiality, and layered archetypes to translate the spirit of the film into a kind of wearable surrealism.

The collection is accompanied by a campaign film featuring an intergenerational cast of actors, writers, comedians, and musicians, including LOEWE brand ambassadors Eva Victor and David Jonsson, alongside Sandra Bernhard and Jordan Firstman. The film is set in a surreal shop-like building, with soft winter snow falling outside. Accompanied by a festive soundtrack, the cast navigates the building wearing key pieces from the collection and led by the character of the Giant Snake.

As they move from exterior to interior, familiar spaces of a store window, fitting room, and stairway take on strange and playful lines, proportions, and patterns. Distorting mirrors, striped walls, skewed angles, and upside-down steps translate familiar store architecture into an increasingly dreamlike world.A series of accompanying still-life images by Paul Kooiker shows the bags,

A series of accompanying still-life images by Paul Kooiker shows the bags, charms, and scarves of the collection in fantastical settings, also inspired by the classic film. A making-of documentary short with Tim Burton, meanwhile, offers a closer look at the craft and creativity behind Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas and at the characters given new material expression through the collection. Seen sketching at his desk, Burton reflects on the simplicity of the film’s central story and the collective work required to build its vision into a cinematic experience.

Across the collection, campaign, and the documentary short, the collaboration is a celebration of Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas and of the hands that shape imaginative worlds.

The collection will be available on November 12.

All animation in the campaign film was produced by Flux Animation Studio, Auckland, a long-time Disney collaborator, using CGI in a traditional 3D animation process.
