The leading independent British brand continues its global retail expansion, with a new pop-up shop in Ibiza’s old town, selling Paul Smith and PS Paul Smith collections for men plus the new collaboration with Spanish footwear specialists, Castañer.
The new shop has been designed to capture the optimistic spirit of summer. Inspired by the famous pink box of Paul Smith Melrose Avenue in LA, this new shop has a similarly bold approach to colour. The traditional Spanish architecture of the façade is countered by a vibrant interior colour scheme, while cut out sections in some interior walls allow these colours to interact and blend, depending on your viewpoint. This striking use of colour was inspired by Paul’s appreciation of paintings by the Chilean architecture studio Pezo von Ellrichshausen.
As with every Paul Smith shop, unique furniture and fittings have been sourced from around the world.
Standout items include a 1950s American stool with hairpin legs and a large abstract artwork of oxide and wood polymer on canvas, titled Begin of Night, by the Austrian artist Georg Fuchsberger. In the fitting rooms, a pair of contemporary cog stools, designed by Paul Smith, feature acid yellow fabric seats using material produced by long-term interiors collaborators, Kvadrat.
Paul Smith Ibiza, C. del Comte de Rosselló, 10, 07800 Eivissa, Illes Balears, Spain.
