On June 24, 2021, an exclusive playlist by RuPaul Charles for Balenciaga will be available to stream or download on Apple Music. Launching simultaneously, limited-edition Balenciaga x RuPaul merchandise will be in stores and on Balenciaga.com.
Known mononymously as RuPaul, the recording artist, actor, author, and TV host is the world’s most successful drag queen. Accompanying his playlist is a limited-edition unisex Balenciaga line of clothing and accessories featuring RuPaul’s autograph and the words Balenciaga Music Limited Edition Merch in spray-stencil lettering.
To announce this collaboration, a series of videos edit together early RuPaul performances, while new photographs show RuPaul and nightlife fixture Susanne Bartsch wearing the merch line among their friends and friends of Balenciaga.
As an official curator on Apple Music, Balenciaga selects artists to create original playlists. Tracks are chosen by the selected artist or group, based on their personal tastes and influences. These creators are chosen by Demna, who started off the series with his own playlist and followed that with one by German industrial band Rammstein.
