080 Barcelona Fashion holds the last day of its 30th edition opening the shows with 080 Reborn and the proposals of the labels EIKO AI, HABEY CLUB, REVELIGION, YOLANCRIS and MENCHEN TOMAS. This brings to a close an edition featuring circular fashion and technological innovation.
The exceptional Sant Pau Art Nouveau Site, a space that has become Barcelona's catwalk over the last week, reopened its doors today to host the last shows of Catalan fashion week. First of all, 080 Reborn got off to a flying start with a second-hand fashion show organised by the Waste Agency of Catalonia, the CCAM and Girbau LAB. With the aim of raising awareness and educating about the durability of garments, the Fermin+Gilles stylists presented a collection whose designs are fully made from clothes recovered from textile waste sorting plants and second-hand shops, such as Humana, Solidança, Formació i Treball, Flamingos Vintage Kilo or Las Pepitas, among many others.
The first label of the day was Gloria Lladó's EIKO AI, which began by reinterpreting the kimono as an emblematic piece of the label and which gradually added new products to its collections to expand its universe.
It presented "Underwater life", a collection inspired by water and the fantasy of underwater life. The fashion show featured transparencies, ultra-soft satins in bright colours, glitter in warm shades, volumes in all their formats, jacquards and vaporous fabrics, melted into prints inspired by aquatic fantasy. The collection’s palette breathes positivity, marine summer life and light. A range of turquoise, lavender and silver ... Neutral shades, pinks and a touch of red to evoke the richness of the seabed. Lingerie and festive looks with frills coexist with casual styles, thus creating a mix between feminine and masculine aspects, with a refined and relaxed cut; flowing shirts, drapes, pleated skirts, cropped silhouettes and printed outfits.
HABEY CLUB, the national label established in slow fashion, bases its core values on craftsmanship, sustainability and responsible production, focusing on the reuse of fabrics and the use of recycled or 100% organic fibres.
The brand prioritises the reinvention of traditions to bring them to the present day from a new point of view and has done so by debuting at 080 Barcelona Fashion with "Reencuentro", a collection inspired by family gatherings. The creative directors, David and Javier, have opted to reflect the diversity of the protagonists’ clothing in these meetings with different fabric finishes: coarse or rough fabrics, satins and gauze with transparencies, different lengths and necklines as well as a mix of trench coats in classic suit fabrics with casual sleeves made of ribbed knit.
REVELIGION, after walking down the catwalks of Madrid and London, opts for 080 Barcelona Fashion for its international standing in order to project the brand to other markets.
María Rodríguez, the designer and creative director, presents this afternoon (5:30 p.m.) "Outsider", a collection that deals with the search for the self, the commitment to oneself and to those who do not find their place or the space to grow. On the catwalk, the models will wear exceptional garments featuring volume and tulle that, once again, will manage to break our limits.
Barcelona Fashion Week also hosts the new collection of YOLANCRIS (7 p.m.), Yolanda Pérez's signature boho style pioneering the bridal sector, which is influenced by its musical and artistic references from the sixties and seventies.
The label is still committed to timeless elegance, an array of colours, prints, textures and volumes. "Idilia" is a collection inspired by a woman of the 60s. The fabrics stand out with a powerful and original print and their plain primary colours. The silhouettes play with volumes, asymmetries and the richness of an array of exquisite fabrics ranging from taffeta, lace, silk and hand-embroidered rhinestones.
MENCHEN TOMAS (8:30 p.m.) is the label that closes the day and the 30th 080 Barcelona Fashion. Olga Menchen heads a brand that designs, produces and makes its own ready-to-wear, party and bridal collections, as well as exclusive haute couture and bespoke bridal designs.
Its proposal, "The Rat Pack", is inspired by a group of US actors and musicians. The lines of executive suits, pinstripes, wool, twill, crystals, Swarovski, 3D volumes, whites, limes and porcelain blues make up this collection. It is a collection that fuses streetwear with party wear.
This fashion show closes the 30th 080 Barcelona Fashion Show. An edition that, for four days, has brought together fashion professionals and design lovers who wanted to show the trends of 2023 in the heart of Barcelona.
