Fashion house - 6/22/21
In a constant and historical (see below) effort to reduce its environmental impact, A.P.C. has developed a new packaging solution. Recycled, reusable, recyclable, it’s yours.
From June 26, two sizes of tote bags and three different pouches will be available: the new A.P.C. packaging is made out of rPET, or recycled and recyclable polyester. Produced from recycled plastic bottles, this material will allow A.P.C. to move away from single-use Kraft bags. The cotton totes, originally developed to utilize leftover fabric, will now be part of the collections.
Sold for a fixed price (1€/1£ /1$, etc.), the funds raised by selling this new packaging will be fully redistributed to the GoodPlanet foundation. This institution, founded in 2005 by Yann Arthus-Bertrand, aims to make ecology and humanism a central issue in order to encourage people to take concrete action for the Earth and its inhabitants.
This new packaging can be reused in your daily life or recycled, depending on your local recycling system. In all cases, you can also choose to return these bags to A.P.C., which will recycle them for you. For 2021, the new packaging is available with blue or red stripes.
A.P.C.’s historical commitment to reduce its environmental impact
Beyond making clothes designed to be desirable for a lifetime, A.P.C. has implemented multiple programs and measures to actively reduce its carbon footprint.
Leftover fabric is transformed into tote bags for customers, while smaller pieces are hand-sewn into A.P.C. quilts, designed in collaboration with Jessica Ogden.
A.P.C. customers are encouraged to return their used denim to stores in exchange for a 50% discount on a new pair. To take this idea further, A.P.C. pieces can be brought back to shops as part of the recycling program. Clients receive a voucher and the clothes are donated to charity.
