WHAT : LOEWE Foundation “Chance Encounters IV” Exhibition Opening
WHERE : LOEWE Miami Design District
WHEN : December 4th, 2018
The opening event for the “Chance Encounters IV” exhibition, with works by Anne Low, Andrea Büttner, and Ian Godfrey took place on December 4th at the LOEWE store in the Miami Design District during Miami Art Week. Guests including Boris Izaguirre, Caroline Daur, Casey Spooner, Craig Robins, Chloe Wise, Danié Gómez-Ortigoza, Gracie Mansion, Nicole Warne, Pari Ehsan, and Stefano Tonchi joined LOEWE Creative Director, Jonathan Anderson, and artist Anne Low to celebrate the new exhibition.
For Art Basel Miami Beach 2018, the LOEWE Foundation presents the fourth exhibition in its Chance Encounters series, bringing together artists from various disciplines in order to prompt unexpected conversations.
‘For something to be contemporary it needs to reflect both the past and the future’, says Jonathan Anderson, Creative Director of LOEWE. ‘The Chance Encounters exhibitions are an opportunity to create conversations across time, between artists whose work resonates strongly with my own creative approach.’
From ceramic to hand-woven textiles and woodcut printing, the exhibition reveals how the use of outmoded techniques can create vital dialogues with the present.
