Alighieri is a collection of jewellery inspired by Dante Alighieri’s ‘Divine Comedy’; each piece corresponds to one of the poet’s 100 poems.
As the pilgrim journeys through the realms of Hell, Purgatory, and Paradise, he encounters mythical creatures, scraggy landscapes, and terrifying demons.
Just like Dante’s subjects, each piece of jewellery is battered, imperfect, and a little bit melancholy. Every piece tells a story, embodying a modern heirloom, that will travel with you on your own adventures..

“As we turned 5 this year, I wanted to create a capsule of three talismanic shoes in collaboration with NET-A-PORTER, with charms, jingling around the ankle as you travel on your escapades.
Inspired by no other place than Dante’s homeland, I travelled to Milan, to meet a shoe factory who work with some of the giants of the industry.
I was met by Lorenzo, the owner of the family business, who was immediately open to the project.
Each shoe is handmade with love, just as we create our Modern Heirlooms in Hatton Garden; 100% of the materials are sourced in Italy, within a 150 mile radius of the factory.
The quality and durability of the leather was paramount to creating a forever piece.
I dreamt of the ultimate minimal sandals, to wear with a power suit or a slip dress, and layers of necklaces.
The Fragment Shoe, inspired by Neapolitan mosaics, excavated from years gone by; The Wondering Traveller, with an asymmetrical anklet of amulets,
hanging as though they were discovered on your journeys; The Initial Spark, the ultimate 90s mule, with an Alighieri spin.
Take the anklets off, and wear them as a bracelet, when you retire your shoes from the dance floor. We hope your heels bring you all good things on your midnight escapades.” - RM
