The young designer has been entrusted with the role of reinterpreting the brand, while bringing it closer to the new generations. The Resort and Main collections are the first events marking the new direction.
Just a few months after officially joining Eccellenze Italiane - the new holding com- pany founded by Marco Marchi at the end of 2019 - historic brand Blumarine an- nounces the appointment of Nicola Brognano as Creative Director starting March 2020. Nicola Brognano, the new name in the Italian fashion scene, is the creator of Brognano. His brand has been presenting his collections during the latest Milan Fashion Weeks and has stood out for its recognizable signature style as well as its abi- lity to reinterpret the present time offering a personal and captivating outlook.
“Nicola will bring the freshness of his creative talent to Blumarine – affirms Marco Marchi, Sole Administrator of Eccellenze Italiane – and an innovative appro- ach that will give new impetus to such an iconic brand. I find all the characteristics needed for a contemporary interpretation of the codes that established the success of Blumarine in Nicola’s creativity and I am glad that a young Italian designer will be nar- rating this new chapter of the history of the brand, while carrying forward the style at- titude of Anna Molinari. Blumarine meant a lot for international fashion and I am confi- dent that Nicola’s energy will help bring new and great satisfaction in the near future”.
“Blumarine fashion and the style of Anna Molinari have always represented a perso- nal source of inspiration and a true testimony to creativity and vision. I am extremely happy and excited to embark on this new adventure with the challenge of propelling the brand into the future, through a reinterpretation shaped by identity and character for the new generations”, adds Nicola Brognano, new Creative Director of Blumarine.
The first Blumarine collections designed by Nicola Brognano will be the Resort - which will be presented next June - and the Main collection debuting on the runway of the September 2020 edition of Milan Fashion Week. This appointment represents a crucial step on Blumarine evolutionary path, showing the brand’s will to capitalize its heritage, focusing on Italian know-how and on a new more contemporary concept of luxury.
