Marni Market returns to Paris bringing the imaginative world of Marni at Galeries Lafayette Paris Haussmann. From October 13 until November 2, 2020, Marni Market will present unpredictable limited-edition products mirroring the brand’s sophisticated aesthetics.
Standing in the first level of the Coupole Store, the Market is housed inside an exclusive area characterized by a circular form. Unexpected materials play with fluid shapes and bright colors setting the tone: their intersection is particularly evident in the PVC floor which intermingles with imposing pillars covered by graphic patterns, as well as iron structures enriched by colorful fibers of fique.
Marni Market presents products of unique forms and colors, interpreting contemporary craft with creative spirit. Galeries Lafayette’s Market is home for a range of hand-woven chairs in natural fiber and PVC which also serve as small tables, as well as tableware accessories such as resin trays and fruit baskets. The Market hosts a collection of bags ranging from Marni’s signature Stripe Shopping Bags to new Hammock Bags inspired by earthy tones, from Crochet Bags in cotton to Basket Bags in PVC available in new sizes. It also displays magazine racks and geometric baskets in PVC and iron.
Each product is one-of-a-kind and is the result of a collaborative venture with Colombian artisans who have been working with Marni for many years. All products are crafted following traditional techniques attesting to the Colombian artisans’ conservative yet visionary perspective in experimenting with materials and colors inspired by the natural world.
