A Bottega Venetta Icon Is Reborn With The New Veneta Bag

Bottega Veneta launches the new Veneta bag, a fresh take on an iconic design. Sharing its name with the house, Veneta also carries the refined craft and tactile luxury that have distinguished Bottega Veneta’s identity since its founding. With its supple construction, held with ease against the body, and its signature Intrecciato weave in ultra-soft nappa leather, the bag embodies core codes and principles of the house.

Veneta can be traced back to an early sack bag of the 1970s, designed by Bottega Veneta co-founder Renzo Zengiaro. At a time when rigid, hand-held bags dominated the market, Zengiaro’s model was pioneering, blending the exceptional quality of Bottega Veneta leather with a much more relaxed, fluid form that naturally contoured to the body. In 2002, the bag was reintroduced as Veneta, securing its status as a namesake icon.

For Summer 2026, Louise Trotter continues her dialogue with house heritage to reimagine Veneta in four new sizes, and in a fresh Intrecciato texture. The new expression features delicate nappa fettucce (leather strips) of 1.2cm width, padded out with a soft interior filler.

Meticulously woven by Bottega Veneta artisans, this padded Intrecciato achieves a cushioned tactility that blends the house’s craft with new dimensionality and a distinct modern look.

The bag is available in four sizes, including a Baby Veneta edition, offering a sweet, playful counterpart to larger sizes. With its no-logo commitment to a luxury you feel rather than show, Bottega Veneta has always paid attention to the interior, as much as the exterior, of the bag. Veneta is lined in the same soft, lightweight lambskin as the archival original, with a zip closure and an internal zipped pocket. In the larger sizes, unreinforced leather handles provide a versatile hand or shoulder carry and add to the bag’s everyday ease.

Veneta is available in 11 colourways, including Blue Venezia, Lava Red, Espresso, and Nocciola.
