Casa - 5/17/22

Alexander McQueen opens a store on the island of Capri, Italy, following the design concept for the house conceived by creative director Sarah Burton in collaboration with the architect Smiljan Radic.
Truly a distinctive world, the store is home to women’s ready-to-wear and accessories and extends over 39-square-metres across a single floor.
Drawing on a fascination with nature that underpins the core values of the house of Alexander McQueen, the main material employed is oak which appears on walls and shelving.
This is juxtaposed with Alba Chiara marble slab cabinets and flooring upholding a local flavour.
Experimentation is prized: the changing room is lined with fabric especially created in the McQueen London atelier.
The product is the protagonist, seen from all sides and up close, and the tension between the contemporary and the traditional that characterizes the house of Alexander McQueen is omnipresent.
