Burberry and Lucien, the Downtown New York restaurant and cultural landmark, are partnering to celebrate heritage, legacy and community this Spring. Renowned for honouring the spirit and history of their founders, Burberry’s partnership with Lucien signifies the coming together of two brands that are masters of their craft.
A cultural hub of artists since its founding in 1998 by Lucien Bahaj and now run by his son Zachary Bahaj, Lucien and its community of creatives – artists, designers, filmmakers, gallerists, writers, and more – have evolved with the city across generations. Channelling the same commitment to community and a belief that creativity opens spaces, this special partnership continues the legacy of Burberry’s founder, Thomas
Burberry, who during his lifetime hosted local communities as a director of the Old Angel Café in Basingstoke,
as well as at his home, Crossways.
In celebration of these mutual values, Lucien will feature the Burberry Check, a house icon and mark of the brand’s heritage, along with custom co-branded elements throughout the restaurant. Visible from both the interior and exterior, the iconic Burberry Check envelops the façade awning and umbrellas at the front of the restaurant, as well as inside across stools and chairs. The partnership is also reflected in bespoke objects including crockery, coasters and napkins, physical takeaways of matchboxes and crayons, and a specially designed menu including a new Burberry-inspired cocktail. In commemoration of the partnership, a limited run of co-branded T-shirts have been created for the shared community of Burberry and Lucien.
In an unprecedented moment in Lucien’s history, the customised Burberry experience is open for 10 days only from 19 – 29 May in New York City.
