How to introduce a collection when we can't get together? That was the challenge of many brands during Paris last Fashion Week in September.

Roger Vivier introduced his Spring/Summer 2021 collection through an interactive platform, the "Hotel Vivier Cinémathèque". In it, the French actress Isabelle Huppert invited visitors to follow her and play the game through the world of cinema. It was the idea of Gherardo Felloni, the creative director of the house since 2018 and, without much surprise, a huge fan of cinema. Born in Tuscany, he has worked for several luxury houses such as Miu Miu and Christian Dior. Renowned for his creativity and eccentricity, Gherado plays with materials like velvet and satin, bold colours and embellishments such as strass or 3D Florals. Since his arrival, he has infused the brand with an authentic identity through his passion for cinema, allowing him to pay homage to the classics of the House while remaining playful and innovative.

YOUR LAST SPRING/SUMMER 2021 PRESENTATION IN THREE WORDS:
Fun, cinematic and interactive

YOUR MAIN INSPIRATIONS FOR THIS COLLECTION ?
For SS21, I was inspired by nature and flowers, in particular. This is a very feminine motif that has a history with the Maison and you will see plenty of floral designs in the collection.

YOUR FAVORITE PIECE FROM THE COLLECTION?
It’s difficult to choose just one piece, but if I were to choose I would say the Vivier Blossom Pump in purple satin. It has different flowers that are all hand painted by our artisans, it has a bright color and I think it represents the theme of the collection.

HOW CAME THE IDEA OF PRESENTING YOUR COLLECTION THROUGH AN INTERACTIVE MOVIE ?
To present the SS21 collection, I wanted to pay tribute to cinema and share my passion for cult films. Today, more than ever, we have to reach people who are far away from each other. So, this season, I offered a virtual Hotel Vivier to our audience, who will play a game within the movie. It’s an interactive platform for everyone to discover the Hotel Vivier universe in a unique and fun way.

WHICH ARTISTS INSPIRE YOU THE MOST?
I get inspiration from films and directors who I admire, like Tim Burton, David Lynch and Dario Argento. I get inspired by different things like art, opera and music but there is a lot of cinema in what I do.

YOUR FAVORITES MOVIES ?
Some of my favorite movies are the ones that we reinterpreted for Hotel Vivier Cinémathèque, like Death Becomes Her, Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?, and Suspiria.

WHAT WAS THE MAIN ASPECTS YOU LOOKED AT IN THE ROGER VIVIER ARCHIVES FOR THIS COLLABORATION?
Roger Vivier has always had a history with women in film. In the same way that Monsieur Vivier made the shoes for Catherine Deneuve in Belle de Jour, I wanted to work with another great French actress, Isabelle Huppert.

COULD YOU DEFINE THE ROGER VIVIER WOMEN IN FEW WORDS?
For me, the Roger Vivier woman is powerful and independent. She is a woman who is always on the move and needs shoes that can move with her.

IF YOU COULD LIVE IN ANY ERA, WHEN WOULD YOU CHOOSE AND WHY?
I love different eras but if I had to choose one, it would be the 1960s.
