Bottega Veneta launches its Alta fragrance collection, composed of ten new Eaux de Parfum expressions. Alta marks the next chapter in the house’s olfactory exploration, unfolding across moments of the day and states of mind, from brightness and clarity to warmth and nocturnal richness. While the inaugural fragrance collection was anchored in Venetian heritage, Alta broadens its perspective to reimagine Italy as a whole in dialogue with the world.
At the core of the collection lies the concept of the “Intrecciato duo”, weaving together one ingredient from the house’s country of origin with another from elsewhere in the world, expressing a cross-cultural exchange through scent. This evolution is marked by a contrast between lightness and richness, balancing citrus, aromatic, and freshness with woods, resins, and warmth. Unexpected accords such as ‘stracciatella’, with its milky vanilla and chocolate notes, expand on the idea of what “Italian” smells like.
Always Now anchors the vibrancy of Italian basil accord in the refined intensity of vetiver Bourbon essence from Madagascar. Montebello draws inspiration from the house’s atelier gardens in Veneto, rooted in the brightness of blood orange and layered with the delicacy and depth of North African neroli. Balliamo evokes a warm summer evening, combining lush Italian white fig with the resonance of American cedarwood.
Bare Morning entwines the powdery softness of Italian talco accord with the elegance of Oceania sandalwood, an intimate and skin-like encounter. Unfolding on the skin, Slow Rise blossoms with late summer’s roses and with French clary sage. Reimagining childhood nostalgia, Ricordami sees stracciatella ice cream unexpectedly grounded by oakwood.
Moment After softens Italian leather accords with the smooth warmth of vanilla, suggesting subtle sensuality. Night Sounds merges Italian saffron accord with Vietnamese benzoin for a warm, resinous, nocturnal feeling. Velvet Steps brings together syrupy Italian plum accord and richly enveloping Spanish labdanum. Evoking the moment of dusk, Crepuscolo contrasts the salty brightness of Fior di Sale and the deeper tones of South Asian oud.
The signature Intrecciato leather weave is translated into a sculptural glass bottle, reinterpreting its iconic diagonal rhythm. A wooden cap and gold-finished ring reference Venetian architecture and fine jewellery craftsmanship, maintaining visual continuity with earlier collections. Each bottle is refillable, offered in 50ml and 100ml formats, and realised using recycled glass.
Launching across Bottega Veneta boutiques and leading department stores worldwide andaccompanied by a series of bespoke woven leather accessories, the ‘Alta’ collection is the house’s most expansive fragrance release to date, reaching a broader global audience while remaining grounded in a foundational commitment to exceptional craft.
